OK; The grass is coming up! It really grows slower when you watch it. Don't believe me, try it!With all the fertilizer and grass seed we are starting to see positive results. Did I forget to mention we added a sprinkling system. Yes, our hard working pilots (er sometimes field workers) have put in a multi-head sprinkling system down the runway. With a little help to Mother Nature we are getting our “green” runway back in shape. The guys are planning a water schedule and rolling so it should be in great shape for our May 24,25 Event. Come on out and check it out! |

We now have three events scheduled for this year. The first two are close together – May 17,18 is the Glider Contest put on by the Orlando Buzzards. This date fills their FSS schedule for their season points race. If you have never witnessed a glider contest, this is the time. Gliders are noted for their state of the art aeronautics. We have lottsa space and people to explain the tasks and gliders. So if you want to see the latest “composite arts” this is the time to get up close and personal with this type of aircraft. The week following, May 24,25, is our Annual Electric Event – this is also a great time to see the latest electric technology as this event always draws a big crowd from District Five. As gas is getting more expensive, both on the road and in the hobby, now is the time to see the popular RC alternative. Many vendors show up to display their wares, answer questions, and save you a long drive to a distant hobby shop. Don't miss the deals, and save the “family wagon” some wear and tear too. As always (our events) spectators and parking are “FREE”! And the concessions are always a bargain. Later in the year we will host a “Big Bird Event”. Information on this event will come this summer. By late summer we should have the runway back to pristine condition for the big power machines. |
